- ARE NOT a way to tryout for 2 or 3 sports to “see” which one you make and then choose.
Examples of situations that can work:
- Students can play soccer and kick for football teams
- Play Field Hockey and run Cross country
- Play Basketball and throw discus for the track team
- Play softball and jump for the track team

Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) requires that each candidate for and participant of an interscholastic athletic team must provide proof of insurance covering possible accident or injury in school sponsored games, practice sessions, and travel to and from athletic contests.
Any family needing insurance for their student athlete to particpate can visit the following link:
K-12 Voluntary Insurance
All prospective student-athletes and parents must have an understanding of the philosophy and policies and procedures that govern participation in interscholastic athletics at Linganore High School. Please review the LHS Athletic Department Policies linked below. Each student and parent submit their understanding of the program handbook as part of the FCPS Online Athletic Registration process.
